Abstract
The fluid-strucure interaction problem is analysed numerically by the fictitious domain and the finite element method. In the fictitious domain method, the region occpied by a solid body is replaced with an imaginary fluid, and the region is considered to be a part of computational flow region, then the boundary conditions imposed at the body surface treated as subsidiary conditions of the governing equations of flow. Therefore, there is no need of remeshing procedure even if the solid body is deformed, and displaced. The solid body is assumed to be an linear elastic one, the deformation of the body is assumed to be small and is governed by the static equilibrium equations of stress. In the present study, the flow equations and the equations of deformation are weakly coupled, namely they are solved reparately. As numerical examples, the supression of vortex-injuced vibration by an flexible plate and the flow in a elastic tube with a valve are analysed.
