Abstract
This paper presents the numerical study for the shape determination of the reinforcement corrosion in concrete based on the observed temperature on the concrete surface. The temperature on the concrete surface is obtained by the heat conduction from the reinforcement stored by an electromagnetic induction heating. For 2-dimensional problem, a lot of numerical experiments have been carried out to confirm the propriety of the computational algorithm. In this study, the formulation is extended to the 3-dimensional problem, and a numerical experiment is carried out. The shape determination problem is formulated by the adjoint variable method, the numerical simulation is carried out by the finite element method.
