Abstract
The aim of this study is to numerically simulate of a stationary transport equation and investigate the effect of perturbation of the scattering kernel.
Diffuse optical tomography (DOT), a new biomedical imaging technique coming after X-ray CT and MRI, has been extensively studied for practical use. It is considered that light propagation in biomedical tissue is described as photon density by an integro-differential equation called transport equation and DOT is mathematically formulated as the inverse transport problem.
This transport model of DOT is commonly accepted but not sufficiently verified. Especially, scattering kernel, which describes light scattering in biomedical tissue needs further verification.
