Abstract
To detect the crack of rotating machinery earlier, vibration diagnosis of a rotor crack using the FEM Modeling has been investigated in the last decades. In these conventional studies, methods using the 3D-FEM software were compared with the experimental result quantitatively. However, the application of these methods for general-purpose is complex. On the other hand, models using the simple 1D-FEM explained only the qualitative results, and could not match the experimental results quantitatively. Therefore, in this paper, we developed the concise, accuracy and general purpose oriented model of the open crack in the rotor system. Particularly, the case of anisotropic support is considered, and the natural frequency is analyzed. Moreover, the double frequency vibration caused by the open crack is investigated and the validity of them is confirmed by comparing with the experimental results.
