Abstract

Damping performance in low-amplitude range of two types of mid-rise timber structures, a five-story CLT structure and a four-story timber frame building, are estimated by subspace model identification method. Although the estimated result depends on the mode and the experienced maximum story drift, the damping ratio of the five-story CLT structure ranges from 1 to 4 % and that of the four-story timber frame structure ranges from 2 to 7 %.
