A STUDY ON THE PLANNING ISSUE OF THE SHANGHAI PUTONG NEW AREA DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The Shanghai Putong New Area Development is such a large and longterm project that there will be many subjects of the project planning had to be dealt. China needs the foreign cooperation both in finance and technology, because there is a shortage of the foreign currency and the knowledge of market economics. This paper discusses the planning problem of the Shanghai Putong New Area Development based on the Japanese experiences about the city development techniques and development policy fitting with the principle of market economics.
