Formation Evaluation in Aga-oki Field (Part II)

Abstract

It has been well known that the product of porosity-φ and water saturation-S_w indicates a constant value in a certain reservoir condition.
The new interpretative results, obtained in this field by using the special values of m and n, described above, have also indicated a clear relation of φ•S_w=C in irreducible water saturation conditions.
Therefore, water free hydrocarbon productive intervals in development wells, have been successfuly detected by φ vs S_w plots which are based on the fundamental identification patterns established through the results of log analysis and production tests of wild cat wells.
