Abstract

In recent years, it is expected that the energy-saving performance of buildings and equipment is improved year by year due to the various regulations and the progress of development of high-efficiency equipment. Buildings, however, will be required to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% in order to contribute to a decrease of 26% in whole Japan in 2030 compared to 2013. Furthermore, a goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions in 2050 is set. Therefore, it is indispensable to improve the energy-saving performance of buildings and equipment. In this paper, trends in the energy-saving performance improvement of buildings and equipment on residence and non-residence are explored through the actual conditions of CO2 emissions and primary energy consumption. Moreover, measures aiming for the reduction of CO2 emissions in 2030 and the zero emissions in 2050 are considered.
