The word “resilience” is now attracting people’s attention as a keyword to clear our path in this uncertain modern society. So, I would like to review the process of how we developed the resilience strategy of Kyoto city, which was selected to join the “100 Resilient Cities Program” pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation, showcase our city’s efforts which are highly evaluated as an SDGs advanced city, and discuss how cities should build resilience in the future, with a view to integrating resilience and SDGs.
