Potential of green infrastructure as a flood control measure

Abstract

This paper specifically examines the expected and actual role of green infrastructure in the process of implementing watershed flood control policies. In conclusion, it is suggested that while hard maintenance of rivers will undertake the bulk of the increase in river runoff due to climate change, the concept of watershed flood control itself represents a major shift in the direction of flood control. It is not only provides an opportunity for efficient and sustainable flood prevention, but also expected to preserve the local lifestyle and culture.
