Abstract

This article reviews my life cycle and practices as a university counselor for nearly 40 years, I summarized my experiences from three perspectives. First, I explain my early experiences at the three universities where my own style was established. I have learned the clinical psychology model, SPS model, and university education model. Secondly, I explain symbolic topics at my current university where I worked as a full-time counselor for 30 years, that is, system and style of counseling, separate campus, various consulting services, student sup- port, campus administration, media, team counseling, and research activities. Furthermore, the significance of the various roles I played in JASC and nationwide activities are introduced, namely, academic activities, educational administration, clinical psychology, certification, international exchange, and ability to convey messages. Summarizing the above experiences, I have presented my thoughts and wishes into several messages for our colleagues who will be responsible for student counseling in the future. Finally, I express my feelings and gratitude for bringing my career as a counselor to a close. To pursue the specialty of student counseling is believing that the dreams of young people can change the world.
