Abstract

Since the revision of the Law for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, all universities have become obliged to provide reasonable accommodation and assign support personnel for students with disabilities.
The purpose of this study was to clarify the process by which support personnel with clinical psychologist qualifications acquire competencies in supporting students with disabilities.
Date were analyzed using the modified grounded theory approach.
After interviewing and analyzing 13 support personnel, 24 concepts and 5 categories were extracted.
In the process of acquiring competency in supporting students with disabilities, qualified personnel recognize the difference between the counseling function and the coordinating function, and the need for management for the organization.
