from the case of Borana in south Ethiopia

Abstract

I would like to discuss the regional interpretation of historical events between the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century in the case of Boorana, a pastoralist Oromo group living in southern Ethiopia.The paper is based on a vast documentation of their narration and oral history collected during field research between 2005 and 2007. I would like to focus especially on the historical tradition of Boorana prophecies.
