Abstract
The study presents an interpretation of certain structure, the structure of number three, and relevant motifs of the face pottery from the Katsusaka Culture based on historical and comparative structural analyses of pottery decoration and Mishakuji rituals preformed in the Upper Shrine of Suwa Grand Shrine. The study proposes that the structure of number three indicates a worldview regarding the creation of life.
