Abstract
In the recent studies of social sciences, many have been discussed upon entrepreneurship of economic actors in post-socialist countries. Entrepreneurship of individuals is regarded there as the antipode of state power, or of socialist culture. The validity of such discussions will be examined through a comparison of activities both of the local consumer's cooperative society, and of individual farmers of a Chuvash village in Russia.
