Abstract

Aerospace physiology training is essential for military pilots to understand countermeasures to environmental stresses that induce aircraft accidents occasionally. Aerospace physiology training usually contains human centrifuge training, hypobaric chamber training and spatial disorientation training. We are continuously making an efforts to encourage aerospace physiology trainers to maintain their educational qualities.
To establish educational program for the next generation, we compared the program for aerospace physiology trainer in Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) to that in United States Air Force (USAF). In JASDF, aerospace physiology trainer are flight surgeon, healthcare officers, non-healthcare officers or enlisted healthcare personnel. USAF establish “aerospace physiologist program” for officers of aerospace physiology trainer, and another professional program for enlisted trainer. USAF prepares educational programs with 3 learning level for officers, and other programs with 6 learning level for enlisted. JASDF does not have such a various programs.
To establish programs for the next generation, we should emulate the systematized program of USAF.
