Abstract
The needs of the reservation support systems for medical simulation training centers are increasing. Usually, the reservation support systems are for managers or educators to make reservation and set-up of the training easy. The system can store several data for reservations such as (1) when is the training, (2) who is the learner, (3) who is the trainer, (4) what kinds of simulators will be used, and (5) what kinds of tasks will be trained. Therefore, these systems would be helpful to make annual statistical reports.
In addition to these traditional usages, the systems are also usable as a support system for learners. As the learning support system, following information should be added: (6) what is the learning objectives, (7) the results of learning, assessments of the training (8) what is the reflection on their learning. Collecting these learning records might be a new approach for the reservation systems, but this is common ideas for the e-portfolio or learning management systems such as Moodle.
The training support systems for both educators and learners will be helpful for the next generation of simulation-based education.
