Abstract

This study analyzes the colonialist nature of postwar Japan’s education policy based on the current state of school health activities at foreign schools and the history of compulsory school attendance for foreign nationals. Unless efforts are made to recognize, verify, and overcome colonialism in educational policy, the practice of separating those who live and those who kill, even among foreigners, will continue to be repeated many times in the future. The guarantee of the rights of children, including foreigners, will not be realized. Keywords: Foreigners, Legal Position of Schools for Foreigners, School Health Activities, Compulsory School Attendance
