Abstract
This paper describes a theoretical research on the acoustic radiation pressure acting on a flat plate of finite width and infinite length which is so placed in a sound field that the plane is parallel to the wave surface. Introducing the elliptic cylinder coordinates, the sound diffraction and the inertia of the plate are taken into account and then the numerical calculations about the radiation pressure are carried out as far as k_1(2π/λ)×half the width of the plate is increased to 3. 0 for the plate of various materials in the plane progressive and the standing wave fields in water.
