Abstract
It was middle of 1980's that music video became popular in Japan. At this time, it played an important role that TV programs of music video and “video aircheck enthusiasts” tried to record and collect the programs. The enthusiasts were formed through an aircheck of FM. The formation process of the TV programs of music video was the same as a formation process of new music programs, which was evolved in a politics of the enthusiasts. This article discusses how a relationship among the field of enthusiasts and the video as a media technology formed the field to accept music video.
