Abstract

Large-scale rice production farmers must cultivates many distributed fields by lease or contract. Therefore, The movement among fields results in the reduction of work efficiency because the movement requires a lot of time, and it is necessary to make a farm work schedule in spring due to consideration of the field distribution. The object of this research is the development of the computing system, which shows farm work schedule of paddling and transplanting on each field by lowering the field distribution in a day. This computer-assisted system make a farm work plan of variety arrangement, work day of transplanting, and work day of paddling by GIS. The work schedule of each field is decided using genetic algorithm for minimizing the sum of filed distribution values in farm work period, which is the average of distance between the center of each field and the center of field distribution in a farm work day. The average of field distribution values of transplanting and paddling of a large-scale rice production farmer shown by this system, is about 200m, and this value is about 40% smaller than that of actual farm work.
