A scoping review was conducted to characterize the literature reported on transplant nursing from 2015 to 2023; 51 English and 24 Japanese articles were selected and analyzed using MEDLINE and the web version of the Central Journal of Medicine. The literature was categorized into 12 categories according to subject and purpose: [attitudes, views, perceptions, and beliefs], [roles], [distress, anguish, confusion, and challenges], [nursing education interventions], [training, training, and education], [perceptions and reality of nursing support], [experiences], [health education by nurses] and [nursing diagnostic methods] for nurses: [patients and Scaling], [Multidisciplinary cooperation], [Nursing education], [Family/patient distress], [Self-management] for family members, and [Training effectiveness], [Recognition, awareness and attitude] for nursing students were the 12 categories. Of these, the categories that were not found in Japan but were found overseas were [health education], [nursing diagnosis] and [scale development] for nurses, [self-management] for patients and families, and [training effectiveness] and [awareness, awareness, and attitudes] for nursing students. In particular, none of the studies were conducted in Japan with nursing students, which may reflect the cultural background of Japan, but research is needed to enhance educational programs during student years for the future development of transplant nursing.
