Abstract
In the estimation of wind load on buildings, the application of computational fluid dynamics has been permitted. A variety of verification has been conducted. Though it is necessary to take into account the inflow from the various directions for practical application, in conventional validation cases, the number of wind directions that considered is not so many as the wind tunnel experiments. In addition, little is known about the relationship between the air flow characteristics and wind load on a building with a balcony handrail. In this paper, the wind load estimation system considering multidirectional inflow is constructed. The constructed method is verified with the wind tunnel test of a building with a balcony handrail, showed fairly good predictability over the multi-wind direction and multi-point for the average value. In addition, based on the analysis results, the airflow characteristics around the building are investigated.
