Abstract
Supracricoid laryngectomy with cricohyoidoepiglottopexy (SCL-CHEP) is an organ preservation surgery for treating glottic carcinoma. SCL-CHEP is indicated mainly for unfavorable T2 and selected T3 and T4 glottic carcinomas. This surgery has become one of the major treatment options in laryngeal preservation. Surgical landmarks of the endolarynx in reflection of surgical indication, limitations and contraindications are discussed in this paper. Proper selection of patients using updated techniques, and employment of appropriate post-operative care are prerequisites for success of this treatment.
