Endoscopic diverticulotomy with the CO2-laser was performed in 75 patients between January 1981 and April 1987. Complete or nearly complete relief of complaints was achieved in all patients. The rate of complications is low. Endoscopic laser surgery proved to be a safe and reliable treatment of dysphagia caused by hypopharyngeal diverticulum.
