Abstract
This paper proposes a method in which the information system analyzes consumer cognitive characteristics automatically, based on the qualitative information of consumer public information and in which consumer cognitive models are built based on the Internet electronic bulletin board example of the personal computer.
The proposed analysis method by which it is possible to build a consumer behavior model is an information system which utilizes a language processing technology. This system can categorize 241 consumers (contributors) into 16 consumer groups. It describes the consumer cognitive models of those groups as quantification models and analyzes the differences among the consumer cognitive characteristics, based on the Internet electronic bulletin board example of the personal computer. An example of an analysis is as follows, “consumer group 1 interests the attributes of information, story and cost, based on communication equipment and electric parts,” and “consumer group 7 interests the attributes of problems, forums, paintings and thinking, based on tools.”
