Abstract

A 61 years-old woman with a previous diagnosis of nutcracker syndrome was refereed to our hospital with progressive hematuria, as well as bilateral inguinal and femoral pain. Computed tomography revealed compression of the left renal vein (LRV) between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery and pelvic vein congestion. We performed endovascular therapy for LRV stenosis using a self-expandable stent to dilate the LRV. Anticoagulant therapy was initiated after stenting to prevent in-stent thrombosis. Her symptoms improved following LRV dilation. No recurrence was observed for 2 years.
