Abstract
Particle oriented strontium bismuth titanate ceramics with high density and oriented structure was successfully developed by a novel processing involving a high magnetic field and reaction sintering. The mixed powder of bismuth titanate and strontium titanate were dispersed in slurry and set in high magnetic field. The a,c-axes bismuth titanate particles were oriented to the applied magnetic field in the green compact. The subsequent reaction sintering resulted in the a,b-axes strontium-bismuth titanate ceramics of obtained structure. The microstructure was highly anisotropic and dense.
