Abstract
Reducing the silica, which contained in high aluminous refractory, to metalic silicon with carbon at high temperature, is interesting process in Refractory Industry.
Auther has studied the machanisms of the reducing reactions by the method of the thermodynamical calculations.
The results of calculations are showen as follow;
1. SiO2+C→Si+CO2-109.7 Kcal.
2. SiO2+2C→Si+2CO-151.8 Kcal.
3. SiO2+2CO→Si+2CO2-78.8 Kcal.
The Nernst's Thermodynamical formula, derivated from the practical uses is as follow:
logKp=Q/4.571 T+vlogT+∑C
From the log Kp-T curve, the uper reactions, showed, are takenplaced at temperature (absolute), 1-formula at 1975, and 2-formula at 1800. The 3-formula has showed to diffcult to take place the reducing-reaction.
Auther, too, obtained the intresting results in preliminary experiments on this observation, and which will be reported on the other papers.
