Thermal Expansion of Arsenic-Sulfur Glasses

Abstract

The thermal expansion of the As-S glasses has been measured and the softening temperature (A_t), transformation temperature (T_g), and linear coefficients of thermal expansion from room temperature to T_g and T_g to A_t (α₁ and α_h, respectively) were determined from the expansion curve. The relationships of composition and A_t, T_g or α₁ are interpreted by the structural model proposed for the As-S glasses previously.
