Abstract
Gradient PZT ceramics with a series of PbZrxTi1-xO3 solid solutions in a single ceramic body were prepared by sintering a green compact composed of two different PZT layers in contact with each other. The composition of PbZrxTi1-xO3 solid solution varied continuously with the distance from the interface. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the gradient PZT ceramics yielded the value of an intermediate composition between two single-phase PZT ceramics on both sides or the value of either of them.
