Abstract

A monoclinic hollandite type barium-titanium oxide Ba_1.1Ti₈O_15.6 (I-centered monoclinic (I2/m), a=1.0297(3)nm, b=0.2966(2)nm, c=0.9966(4)nm, β=91.38(4)°) was synthesized in H₂ atmosphere at 1500°C. The mean value of valence of Ti in the new phase is +3.62.
