Abstract
For the detailed investigation of the effects of the starting materials and oxygen atmosphere in annealing, the temperature dependence of dc resistance, Meissner effect, and the X-ray diffraction patterns are measured for sintered body of Ba2YCu3Ox prepared by the thermal decomposition method of organic or inorganic acid salts. Consequently, it was found that the values of Tc were very sensitive with both factors, whereas diamagnetic behaviors at liquid nitrogen temperature were not. These results imply the excess amount of oxygen is necessary to obtain continuous superconducting phase in the thermal decomposition process of organic acid salts.
