Ozone detection in air using SmFeO₃ gas sensor for air quality classification

Abstract

The conductance changes of an SmFeO₃ based p-type gas sensor due to the contamination level of air with ozone were examined. The conductance was responsive to sub-ppm levels of ozone. The dynamic range of the sensor to distinguish the air quality due to ozone contamination covered four levels, i.e., very good, good, poor and very poor.
