Abstract
A distribution model of confining effect in reinforced soil structure was newly shown, based on a distribution of vertical stress increment due to pull-out of a reinforcement. New methods for internal stability analysis considering the distribution of confining effect were proposed. In this paper, two design methods are selected as objects, which are based on slice method and wedge method. In order to introduce the distribution of confining effect into these design methods, a method to approximate or equalize the distribution was shown. Validity of the proposed methods is verified by the comparing calculation results by the proposed methods with the results of full-scale experiments of geogrid reinforced soil walls performed by reported in the literatures.
