Lower grade gliomas (LrGG) include oligodendroglioma, IDH-mutant and 1p/19q co-deleted, and astrocytoma, IDH-mutant. Given the potential for long-term survival in LrGG, the role of postoperative treatments, including radiation therapy, is currently in transition. This review provides the latest updates on LrGG, covering essential knowledge for daily practice, postoperative treatment strategies, and future perspectives, especially for young neurosurgeons.
