Abstract

We applied the Tsume-flat series® to 190 great toes with ingrown/incurvated nails and examined the types of wires in this study. The results showed that only Tsume-cap® could be used to treat ingrown nails, while both Tsume-flat® and Tsume-cap® could be used to treat incurvated nails. The treatment period was longer for incurvated nails, and wire replacement/change were required. The Tsume-flat series® is broadly applicable for nail conditions, including ingrown and incurvated nails, and is an extremely useful tool in clinical practice, if the Tsume-flat® and Tsume-cap® are used as appropriate.
