Abstract

Objective: To clarify the actual severity of locomotive syndrome (locomo) in patients undergoing lumbar spine surgery, in order to assess the effects of exercise intervention on the severity of locomo.

Results: Most patients had locomo before surgery and an improvement in the severity of locomo was observed at discharge and at 3 months after surgery.

Conclusion: The results suggest that continuous exercise intervention after lumbar spine surgery is useful for improving the severity of locomo.
