Abstract

Purpose: PFC-FDTM (platelet-derived factor concentrate, freeze-dried) therapy is expected to have therapeutic effects in patients with knee osteoarthritis because it stimulates growth factors.

Subjects and Methods: Eight knees of 6 patients with knee osteoarthritis in whom PFC-FD therapy had been requested for both knees, and multiple sessions of the therapy had been requested for one knee.

Results: Some patients showed improvement in the symptoms in response to PFC-FD injection.

Discussion: There are several issues that require to be addressed in the future, including the optimal rehabilitation protocols.

Conclusion: We report our experience with PFC-FDTM therapy. We propose to conduct further studies in the future.
