The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between nocturnal pain and the range of motion of the shoulder in patients with supraspinatus and infraspinatus tears. A total of 284 patients were divided into two groups according to the presence or absence of nocturnal pain. The shoulder joint range of motion and the patient demographics were evaluated. The results showed significant decreases in the range of shoulder flexion and abduction in the subject group with nocturnal pain. However, multiple logistic regression analysis identified no significant relationship.
