Aim: The objective of this study was to determine which of two drugs, a combination agent and Chinese medicine, was more effective for alleviating pain accompanying anal cryptitis.
Methods: We compared the change of pain level before and after treating the patients, who received either medical treatment for one month.
Results: This study enrolled 75 cases (combination agent group: 43, Chinese medicine group: 32). After performing single variable analysis and multivariate analysis, the change of pain level showed a significant difference between the two groups, with a significant reduction in pain in 35 cases (81%) and 25 cases (78%), respectively.
Conclusions: The two drugs did not show a significant difference in effect on pain. However, it was thought that both drugs were effective.
