Abstract
Pulmonary metastases from colorectal carcinomas can be resected in fow patients. W e experienced two cases of surgical resection of the metastases. Case 1. A 64-years-old man had surgery for carcinoma of the cecum with the histologic diagnosis of moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma, stage III. Six years after the surgery he had carcinoma of the Rs with a solitary pulmonary metastasis in the right lung. He underwent low anterior resection and lobectomy of the right lung. The diagnosis of carcinoma of the Rs was well differentaiated adenocarcinoma, ss, n2 (+), lyi, vi. For 4 years and 1 month from the second operation he has been healthy. Case 2. A 66-years-old woman had experienced Miles' operation for carcinoma of the Ra with the diagnosis of well differentiated adenocarcinoma, stage. III . A solitary metastasis was found in the liver and the lung 3 years and 5 months after the surgery. She underwent right lobectomy of the liver and lobectomy of right lung. She died of metastases of the residual liver 5 years after the first operation. We think surgical resection of a solitary pulmonary lesion from colorectal carcinoma is effective.
