The numbers of Japanese people living around Asia have become larger and larger. Malaysia is one country becoming a long-stay destination for Japanese. A previous study suggested that obesity and overweight are growing health problems both in Malaysia and worldwide that result from lifestyle changes such as a decrease in physical activity, an increase in sedentary behaviour, and poor eating habits. In this mini- review based on our three previous studies, we show the association between sedentary behaviour and social demographics factors, exercise behaviour, and health-related quality of life to aid in the prevention of cardiovascular disease in Japanese living overseas in Malaysia.
