Structural analysis of glassy materials is still a challenging topic in materials science due to the absence of long-range order. However, a combination of quantum beam(X-ray/neutron)experiments and computer simulations with the aid of advanced topological analyses enables us to investigate the order hidden in disordered structure in glassy materials. In this article, recent studies of glassy and amorphous oxide materials, in which we found that a network topology is an important structural feature for understanding structure–property relationships, are addressed.
