Abstract
A difference cylindrically symmetrical Patterson function is introduced and theorems concerning it are given. The difference function has advantage in several respects in structure analysis of fibre materials compared to the usual cylindrically symmetrical Patterson function. It can be calculated without the intensity data on the equator, and was very useful in structure analysis of the thin filament of crab striated muscle in rigor made by the authors. Outline of the analysis is described.
