Abstract

Sucrose-phosphate synthase (SPS) is a key enzyme in the synthetic pathway of sucrose, which is a main translocation form of photosynthates. SPS is involved in many processes related to important agronomic traits such as growth and yield of plants. This article reviews the current knowledge of SPS in higher plants.
