Abstract
Since 1987 we have made use of Spiral pins in ostheosynthesis for 14 cases of humeral neck fracture and 4 cases of humeral shaft fracture. This method has less operative invasion and more advantage in fixability, therefore the patients can start early movable rehabilitation with more relief.
But when the postoperative therapy cannot be given enough to the patient more than seventy-year-old because of senirity, the movable range is occasionary restricted at shoulder joints and elbow joints. We have not got the satisfactory results in some aged patients.
We should adopt the most appropriate operation and postoperative therapy in consideration of the patient's characteristics and eagerness for recovery.
