Abstract
Some molecules such as Pyridinum Chorolide (PC), Methylene Blue (MB) and Victoria Pure Blue (VPB) were adsorbed on Alumina-pillared montmorillonite intercalated with different amount of pillar. The pillared montmorillonite was dispersed in adsorbate solution and then incubated at room temperature for 3days. The amount of the obtained adsorbate in the pillared montmorillonite increased with increasing distance between pillars and with decreasing molecular size, that is, VPB> MB> PC.
In this study, it was ovserved that the amount of adsorbate in the pillared montmorillonite is controlled by both molecular sizes of adsorbates, and the distance between pillars.
