Abstract

There are few clinical reports of zirconia ceramic resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses (RBFDPs), and the long-term prognosis is largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the information about the single tooth defect zirconia ceramic RBFDPs and examined the survival time using the Kaplan-Meier method. As a control group, we compared it with a zirconia all-ceramic fixed dental prosthesis (FDPs) and investigated it. The five-year cumulative survival rate was 100% and the success rate was 94.1%, which were not significantly different from those of the zirconia all-ceramic FDPs (P=0.4385) (P=0.8206). As a result of examining the prognosis of the zirconia ceramic RBFDPs, it was suggested that the survival rate and success rate are clinically sufficient if the indications and conditions are observed.
