Abstract
A determination method of methacrylic acid in air was developed. Methacrylic acid is collected by polyamide cartridge and desorbed from it with acetone. Methacrylic acid in the eluent is derivatized with pentafluorobenzyl bromide for capillary gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis. The recovery of methacrylic acid when 20 ng was spiked onto each cartridge was 109 % on average. The quantitation limit was 2.3 ng/m3 when 1, 440 l air sample was collected.
